What a wild ride it's been!

Talk about a let down in Autumn! Business is going well and then all of a sudden, the media starts talking about a downturn in the housing market. North Carolina just isn't the same animal and, although, things have indeed slowed down in the past 3-4 months, I feel confident that local buyers will pick right back where they left off- with gangbusters! After all, it's not the out-of-staters we're worried about.

Just heard on the news this weekend that North Carolina is #1 in the nation for people moving in from another state. And we're #5 for overall population growth! I am from New Jersey myself and I can say without any bias that NC is a great state in which to live.

We also have the fortune of receiving a lot of halfbacks. Apparently, this is a new term, which I suppose will catch on soon. There is a large influx of folks from New York and New Jersey who move to Florida to retire. Soon after they move there, they find they hate it (the climate, mostly) and move "halfway back" to places like North Carolina.

After all, this state is an awesome place to play golf- even here in the Triad! The climate is great, the population density is tolerable, necessities (shopping, healthcare, education) here in High Point are close by and yet there is still a feel here of open spaces and relaxation (especially in Quail Run).
