YAY Andrews!

I was sooo glad to hear the news about our neighborhood high school! Kudos to Carson Wofford for taking the leap!

Weatherization

Steve, in the constant pursuit of bettering himself, is taking a class on weatherization next week.

This should help him learn more about retrofitting homes that are leaky and drafty. This is green for several reasons- one, it improves the energy efficiency of a home. When a home is energy efficient, it means LOWER UTILITY BILLS.

Also, when done correctly, it makes the home healthier. Some people say it’s possible to have a home that is too “tight.” Others say, if the airflow is controlled (the HVAC is sized as it should be, fresh air comes in through the handler instead of the electric sockets and stale air pushed out through the returns) and the system is maintained properly (air vent filters are changed regularly etc…) a tight home is the goal.

Either way, sealing up places where airflow wasn’t meant to exist improves your bills.
